EVERYONE GET OFF YOUR FRIGGIN HIGH HORSES

Have you just for once stopped and thought about this little fact you all seem to have forgotten. There are only 2 places songs from a recording could be that havent been released yet and that is TADAAAAAAA either with the BAND or WITH the record label ergo

• the band themselves leaked it so stop bitching about it
• the record label leaked it with permission of the band so stop bitching about it

It’s been a while since theres been new music out and the new music video for this song saved my life is taking longer than expected so what do to what to do to keep the fan base interested and people talking about the band and being interested about what’s going on after a long silence music wise. hah here’s an idea RELEASE SOME SONGS THAT WERE RECORDED BUT NOT MASTERED YET! it’s NOT the best quality OUT THERE but IT DOES the TRICK because EVERYONE is talking about it. Either bitching and moaning about the fact that the songs have leaked and OH EM GEE THOSE WHO LISTEN TO IT WILL GO STRAIGHT TO HELL or its OMG I AM IN HEAVEN I LOVE THOSE NEW SONGS. And Every fan wants to either hear them or talk about not wanting to listen to it!

Now with this being cleared up and this ending today’s lesson of how the industry works, let’s mosey along and do something constructive with your lives.

The boys from simple plan have pretty much been touring none stop for a decade, have been going into the studio to record new albums and have been contributing to society somehow. THen there’s the foundation that requires a lot of work. There’s chuck and pierre that write songs for other artists. Then Seb has man of the hour with patrick and his side projects. Jeff recently bought a restaurant.

They DESERVE to have time off and spend it with their families and loved ones. You all need to learn to APPRECIATE what those 5 boys do for us on a pretty much daily basis. They always want to stay in touch with us the best they can. They always are up for autographs and a chat.

There’s WORSE ways a band could treat their fans and yet all you do is complain about the stupidest shit out there. So what if Pierre wasnt at the promo tour for the book. HE WAS DONATING HIS TIME TO CHARITY!!!! and Even IF he were to spend it with his family it’s his GOD GIVEN RIGHT!

There are bands who have been doing this for 20 some years. Have you ever heard of billy joe pulling away from Green day because of his kids? Or The lead of Aerosmith? The stones? Bon Jovi?

They DESERVE to see their little ones grow UP!

And if this is honestly the biggest worry you have in your life. RE EVALUATE YOUR LIFE CHOICES!

I have had it with the rants about simple plan going places other than theirs and they feel the need to whine and bitch about it all the time instead of doing something about it. For some reason the majority does NOT grasp that simple plan IS first and FOREMOST a BUSINESS! If everyone would LEARN how this business works, they could use it to THEIR advantage and come up with ways to get the band AIRPLAY in THEIR town instead of using all their energy to bitch about them not coming to their town.

I am sick and tired of the fact that the vast majority does NOT respect the concept privacy when it comes to famous people! It’s as if the majority thinks that the way you treat any human being, does not apply when people are famous. Yet they ARE human. They deserve to be treated just like you and me.

You are supposed to love those boys unconditionally and respect them and the little privacy they have. Their families and loved ones did NOT ask to be in the public eye. They are in it because they LOVE the boys. This however does NOT mean that FANS have the RIGHT to go on facebook or photolog or whatever it is they use and STEAL personal PICTURES and PUT them OUT THERE for EVERYONE to see!

These confessions that are out there, seem to be more a way to cause drama in the fandom than anything else. It are no longer confessions but ways to provoke the fandom under anon and then people are surprised that it gets reaction by people!

Just STOP IT! WHY WHY WHY would you do these things? Do you honestly think that the boys are gonna love you more if they knew you did those things? Are you deliberately trying to get the boys to dislike you with your behaviour? Seriously! Ask yourself this, would anyone like you if they knew what you are capable of?

actually it’s the promoters that need to get the bands to the states. If the demand isn’t there, promoters won’t invest in the band actually COMING to the states. It’s as simple as that really. Promoters need to invest in venue, promo, pay local crew, pay ticket master, printers etc… to get the word out that the band IS performing. Then they HOPE that the ticket sale will be HIGH enough for them to at least break even which means for those that dont understand the term no gain but no loss either money wise. 

So here’s some advice for you american fans that like to bitch about European fans and that the boys come here! START REQUESTING THEIR SONGS ON RADIO! WHEN the demand keeps being there THE RADIO HAS TO LISTEN AND BUY THE DAMN SINGLE!

Before i begin my actual post, let me put it out there that I FULLY understand the feelings of US fans concerning the lack of simple plan tour dates and a full headlining tour in the USA. But let me tell you how the music industry works, and this time i’m using Simple Plan as an example, but in reality it works the same for any band really. 

Now with that being said, let’s not forget that simple plan IS a business. The problem with the US market is, and always will be, that there are too many bands popping up left and right. This is called an over saturation of the market. With too many bands rising to the top, it’s hard for any band to keep their fan base. Tweens and Teens tend to jump bands rather fast because most like to get new music or go with what’s new and to be honest, 2 to 3 years waiting is for teens and tweens A LOT of time to get a new album out. Most of those waiting grow up and discover new music and the majority sticks to the new genre they’ve discovered. 

Now let’s talk promotion. When a band has been gone for such a long time, it is hard for radio stations and tv stations to give them the time of day, because also for them 3 years is A LONG time to disappear from the scene! With foreign bands, who dont live in LA and are in the spotlight of the paparazzi ALL the time it’s easy to forget them. That fact and the saturation of the market by new bands makes it 10 times harder for ANY band to get back on the US wagon. 

CD sales AND radio play is what makes a band popular. As much as a band wants to play certain areas, if promoters aren’t willing to stick their neck out and book a band, plus all costs that come with it, renting a venue, paying local crew, printing tickets and posters, getting all kind of promo for the event, pay the crew, the transportation of the band and crew, merch person and the people working at the venue at the bar, warderobe, etcetera without being somewhat sure to at least break even, they’re not going to do it. It means they’ll end up losing a lot more money than they invested in and nobody WORKS FOR FREE! 

So they go places where they ARE making money and where they are demanded. Let’s be honest here, if you were a carpenter and in your home town, there wasn’t any work for you, you’d move to a place where they offer said jobs so you can make money and pay your bills. 

So IF US fans WANT the boys back in the USA, Youre going to have to group together and bombard every single radio station there is and ask them to play the boys. The fans HAVE the power, they just dont really seem very keen on using their power except for a few. YOU start demanding like crazy, THEY have to play them eventually! it’s simple as that 

to start requesting simple plan on the radio and tv if we ever plan on having them come back to belgium to play a show. 

I just found out that the album didnt do well at all and a lot have been send back to the record label so who is with me?

Do you listen SIMPLE PLAN everyday? Do you feel like you’re about to cry of happiness when you see them on the tv? Do you feel like they are always by your side? Are you in love with a member of the band? Do you ever feel like one of their song is written exactly for you? Do you think they understands you more than yourself? Then YES. WHAT??? no your definition is WRONG! I can go days without listening to them and then there’s days i listen to them non stop. I get excited when i see them on tv but not to the point where im on the verge of crying. I dont feel as if they’re always by my side but they are with me because they helped shaping who i am so they are a part of me. The main reason why i’m a fan of Simple Plan IS because they write songs that hit home. Yes I love them unconditionally in fact but i dont believe you need to be in love with one of them in order to be a real astronaut!!! And NO i dont think they understand me more than i do. I do feel as if i can be me around them. But that’s a whole different situation. 

This is what makes you a true astronaut in my humble opinion. You support them by buying their music, either legally online or old school through cds, you love those boys unconditionally which means you don’t stop listening to them cuz OmGee one or more have a girlfriend, have a dog you hate etc… whatever. You do NOT kiss ASS nor do you WORSHIP the ground they walk on. You dont always have to agree with what they do or say but in the end, you are still WITH them. You love them like you love family! you RESPECT them and you treat them with respect. 

THAT IS WHAT MAKES YOU A TRUE ASTRONAUT!
